Five schools in Glen Waverley have received grants of up to $10,000 to reduce energy use and promote sustainable practices.

Glen Waverley Secondary College, Glen Waverley South Primary School, Glenallen School, Glendal Primary School and Mount View Primary School all received grants as part of a Victorian Coalition Government program.

The Energy Efficiency Grants Program for Victorian Schools provides schools with funding to begin or continue sustainability activities such as undertaking energy audits, installing equipment such as energy efficient light bulbs, door and window draught seals, small wind generators, or replace less energy efficient appliances.

The program is a joint partnership between the Department of Education and Early Childhood Development (DEECD) and Sustainability Victoria. A total of 400 grants of up to $10,000 will be awarded in 2013 and 2014. MichaelGidleyMP-2910
