New playspace in Mt Waverley

September 2nd, 2011 posted by

With the first day of Spring upon us once again, Waverley residents will again start heading outdoors into the sunshine.  As for the children and families of Waverley, they now have a new range of outdoor play equipment to test out following the opening of the new Federal Reserve playspace in Mt Waverley. The playspace was officially opened by the Minister for Sport and Recreation, Mr Hugh Delahunty and the Mayor of Monash City Council, Cr Greg male.

Parks and playspaces have an important role in our communities as they encourage people to become more active and enjoy the outdoors together.

It is my great hope that this playspace will encourage physical activity and outdoor fun for Waverley residents for many years to come.

The new playspace includes junior and senior equipment, decking, cubby play, interactive areas, senior and junior swings, carousel, stepping stones, access path, maze with animal themes and design features that complement the reserve’s woodland character.

The Liberal Nationals Coalition Government is pleased to contribute funding to this project through the Community Facility Funding Program – Minor Facilities Category.

I also recognize Monash City Council for their support of the project.
