The Liberal Nationals Coalition Government recognises that the early years of childhood are crucial to the development and wellbeing of children. That’s why our Children’s Facilities Capital Grants Program invests in a range of initiatives for children’s services infrastructure including new facilities, upgrades, renovation and refurbishments, and minor grants for equipment and information technology products.

This Program includes $16 million in state funding and $10million of funding through the national partnership on early childhood education, making it the largest single-year investment in early childhood infrastructure in Victoria’s history.

In addition to the significant pool of grant funding, the Children’s Facilities Capital Grants Program significantly increases the maximum size of grants available for early childhood development. Under this Program, Integrated Children’s Centres and infrastructure upgrades and extensions maximum grants have been increased by 50% to $1.5 million and $300,000 respectively.

The grant round is open until 27 February 2012. Application forms and further information can be found at: http://www.education.vic.gov.au/ecsmanagement/capitalprogram/11-12.htm.

Please note the Children’sFacilities Capital Grants Program is additional funding unrelated to the$2,500 flexible grants announced by the Coalition Government in June for community-based kindergartens across Victoria.

These two funding programs delivered by the Coalition Government, further demonstrate that we are investing in the early years of childhood development, to support improved education outcomes for Waverley.
