Funds to commemorate our Veterans in Waverley

April 24th, 2013 posted by

The Rotary Club of Monash Inc has been awarded funding of $2,000 to host an Anzac Ceremony for local schools this year.

The service brings together students from government and non government schools in Monash to commemorate Anzac Day.

I have attended the service hosted by the Rotary Club of Monash Inc for a number of years and it is not only a moving commemorative service but a wonderful opportunity for students at local schools to learn more about our nation’s history.

The funding, provided by the Victorian Coalition Government, is part of the Veterans Fund, which awarded 27 projects around the State a total of $265,500 this year.

The Veterans Fund provides ex service organisations, schools and community groups with the opportunity to develop initiative that commemorates the service of our veterans.
