Chinese New Year 2014

March 6th, 2014 posted by

Chinese New Year continues to grow as an important occasion in Victoria’s events calandar with the occasion providing for increases in both economic and cultural activities across the state.

As part of 15 days of Chinese New Year celebrations, the Year of The Horse was celebrated in Waverley on Sunday 9 February with the Chinese New Year and Lantern Festival. The festival featured a wide array of events including lion dances, live entertainment and a huge variety of food stalls.

The Chinese New Year and Lantern Festival was organised and presented by the Monash Chinese Events Organising Committee (MCEOC). I acknowledge and thank the MCEOC for all of their work in delivering such successful Chinese New Year celebrations in Waverley.
