ANZAC week services were held through Waverley from Sunday 20 April to Friday 25 April to commemorate those who have served our country during times of war.
On Sunday 20 April the Waverley RSL held their annual 10am ANZAC march and commemoration service in Glen Waverley, thereby allowing members the opportunity to attend the annual commemoration march in Melbourne on ANZAC Day. The march to the Glen Waverley cenotaph was led by the Light Horsemen followed by servicemen and women and community representatives.
Official wreaths, commemorative speeches and the last post were undertaken at the cenotaph. I thank the Waverley RSL, other service organisations and volunteers for preparing and undertaking this service.

The official dawn service to commemorate the 99thanniversary of ANZAC Day was conducted by the Waverley RSL on Friday 25 April at 6am. Many hundreds of residents gathered at the Glen Waverley cenotaph to pay their respects followed by a traditional gunfire breakfast. The dawn service is a fitting conclusion to ANZAC week services in Waverley.
